Rhythm of the Dance is a two-hour dance and music extravaganza that contains a wealth of talent derived from all areas of Irish life. Presented by The National Dance Company of Ireland, this show is an inspiring epic - reliving the journey of the Irish Celts throughout history. Using the modern arts of dance and music, this richly costumed program marries the contemporary and the ancient. Combining traditional dance and music with the most up to date stage technology, a thousand-year-old story is executed with all the advantages of the modern day stage. This wonderful production continues to evolve thanks to the constant striving for perfection by Director/Producer, Kieran Cavanagh, as well as its choreographers and composers. Ever fresh and interesting, audiences who attend performances regularly will always find some new and exciting elements within the program.
Since its creation ten years ago, Rhythm of the Dance has consistently
toured internationally and is achieving greater critical acclaim year after year. With a multi-talented cast of dancers, musicians and Irish tenors, featuring live performances from the entire troupe, this show has entertained over 5 million fans in 36 countries.Following a successful six-week run of shows at Dollywood in March-April 2007, where the festival was a roaring success, Rhythm of the Dance has been invited back to participate in Dollywood's "Festival of the Nations" in May, 2008. The highlight of the engagement was when Dolly Parton herself joined the cast of the show on stage and performed two numbers.
