Denver's Rocky Mountain News called David Taylor's production "a memorable 'Nutcracker' that captivates the eye. Satisfying, daring, and fun!" In a newly designed production, David's "Nutcracker" is enhanced by computer-generated graphics with constantly changing images projected onto a cyc. In other words, the production does not require theatres that have a fly system. In addition, the production can employ up to 26 local children who, with the help of a local dance teacher, are rehearsed and costumed in your city. ![]() Here is a breakdown of the roles that local children can perform: 7 girls and 3 boys, ages 10-12 years in the party scene; six young people, ages 15+, as mice; and a Mother Ginger (young adult) and 7-9 girls, ages 12-16, who are experienced dancers and small in stature. Costume fittings and final rehearsals shall be under the supervision of the Company. David Taylor, now artistic director emeritus, created a body of work, particularly contemporary ballet choreography exemplified by his multi-media "Rainforest," which has been well received in the Denver area since the mid-1970's. James Wallace is now artistic director of the company which provides approximately 16 professional dancers and 8-10 apprentices for this "Nutcracker" production. Although "Nutcracker" is often performed to recorded music, the company welcomes collaborations with local orchestras. The company has appeared previously with the Casper, Grand Junction, and Billings Symphonies, Denver Chamber Orchestra, Fort Collins Symphony, and the Boulder Philharmonic.
